UNFCCC: Informal Meeting of Experts Convenes on Methodological Issues Relating to Reducing Emissions from Forest Degradation in Developing Countries
22 October 2008: Representatives from parties, intergovernmental organizations, and nongovernmental organizations met in Bonn, Germany, from 20-21 October 2008, to discuss methodological concerns relating to reducing emissions from forest degradation in developing countries (REDD).
Presenters included the EU, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), Gabon, Papua New Guinea, and Germany, on lessons learned from REDD projects. Discussions also addressed various methodological and monitoring approaches, including means to establish reference emission levels, and identified future research needs. [Meeting website]
